Too busy for blogs

Sorry I've been MIA for the past two weeks. Things have been so busy here preparing for the Olympics. Bernice's last day was about a week and a half ago and I've been completely swamped ever since. My folder is constantly full of articles to edit. The reporters like to send me their stories because they think I'm better than the other foreign editor. Good for my confidence: yes. Good for my stress level: no. But Marc and I had a talk with the Web editor to tell her I've been too overwhelmed. It's only been a day since, but things have calmed down a bit, at least.

A new intern from New Zealand started last week. He has mostly broadcast experience but he's sharing the editing with me, which has been helpful. It's nice to have someone my age around, and he's always up for exploring after work and on the weekends, which is fun too.

I'm doing Video News on Fridays now and during the Olympics I'll probably do a second broadcast by myself each week. I finally got a "well done" from Marc last week -- yes! We were having a lot of fun in the studio that day and I think it comes through on the video, which he tells me is the point.
